Lee Jieun

Lee Jieun is drawing attention to everything surrounding things and space. By putting reality and Ideas into one space, she is making a new place that contains the aspirations of utopia. The spaces of the work are real places, but also a new world overlaid with her artistic touch. These works began imagining Christmas in the summer, and new landscapes and characters encountered while wandering in a familiar yet unfamiliar space appear. She is showing a new world through color, space and objects which do not really exist.

이지은은 살아있는 주변의 모든 것들에 주목하며 쉬이 지나칠 수 있는 대상과 공간들의 이야기를 본능적인 몸짓으로 그려 나갑니다. 현실과 이데아를 한 공간에 담아내며 이상향의 염원이 담겨있는 새로운 장소를 구현하고 있습니다. 작품의 공간들은 실존하는 장소이기도 하지만 실제 그대로가 아닌 작가의 취향이 덧입혀진 새로운 세계입니다. 이번 작품들은 여름의 크리스마스를 상상하며 시작되었고 익숙하면서도 낯선 공간에서 헤매다 조우한 풍경과 인물이 새롭게 등장합니다. 작가는 현존하지 않는 색감, 공간, 오브제를 통해 새로운 세상을 보여주고 있습니다.
