이번 전시에서 선보이는 평면작업의 중첩된 마티에르는 작가의 정신적 근간인 제행무상[1]의 의미론적 고찰과 더불어 과거의 시점에서부터 현재의 시점으로 확장된 시간성의 변화를 내포한다.

은유적 조형언어로서 담긴 형상들을 차분한 호흡으로 마주하면 파노라마가 지나가듯 아끼던 장면들이 마음을 채운다. 목련 나무가 빛났던 밤, 오래된 편지와 낡은 흑백 사진, 작은 새, 흰 눈 속에 얼어 있던 붉은 동백 꽃나무처럼 어떠한 기억들은 특별하지 않더라도 오래 기억되곤 하는데, 작가는 이러한 순간들을 가져오고 엮으면서 그 소중함을 이야기한다. 시를 읽을 때 활자의 인식을 넘어 언어의 뉘앙스를 음미하는 과정을 거치듯 22점의 작품 역시 삶의 궤적에 따라 다르게 조응하며 개인적 해석에 따라 새로운 정체성을 가진다.
